China Nepal Cross border Land Cable System Officially Opened

On May 9, China Mobile Xizang completed the commissioning of the China Nepal land cable system, marking the official opening and use of the first cross-border land cable in the direction of China Mobile Nepal.

This China Nepal land cable connects Kathmand, the capital of Nepal, and Shigatse, Xizang, and can be extended to all cities in China through the government enterprise private network, with a bandwidth of 100Gbps. This land cable opens an important information channel in the direction of South Asia of the "the Belt and Road", which will further enhance the direct connectivity capability of China and Nepal communications, address the communication needs of local Chinese enterprises and other overseas enterprises, and promote the connectivity development of the "the Belt and Road" region.

Up to now, China Mobile Xizang will continue to actively promote the construction of international information infrastructure, build China Nepal export routes at Zhangmu Port, ensure the safe and stable operation of China Nepal international system with multiple routes, constantly optimize the layout of resources along the "the Belt and Road" and the global, and continue to deepen China's connectivity with the world.

It is reported that the company has invested a total of 1.8 billion yuan in 5G, built more than 6000 5G base stations, and achieved full coverage in cities, counties, and townships, with an administrative village coverage rate of 42%; It has opened the RedCap function of more than 130.
